A DIALOGUE BETWEEN THE GESTAL APPROACH AND LEGAL PSYCHOLOGY IN FAMILY SIGNS

Abstract

This paper aims to present considerations derived from the Master's thesis titled "Contributions of the Gestalt Approach to Legal Psychology in Family Sticks", developed in the Graduate Program in Social Psychology of UERJ. The methodology included theoretical research about the notion and principles of the diagnostic understanding in Gestalt therapy and on aspects related to the performance of the psychologist in Varas de Família. Through the analysis of the results, contributions of this approach to Legal Psychology were gathered in Family Judgments. Situations related to post-separation families were prioritized in relation to the custody dispute and / or visitation regulations, since many of the disputes that come to Family Judgments are linked to issues that refer to the marital break-up. In this sense, a discussion was carried out on issues involving the moment of marital separation in families with children through the presentation of different research results in this area. Aspects related to child custody dispute and / or visit regulations were analyzed, since these problems are usually referred to the Family Services Psychology services. As a consequence of the study, the problem of the performance of psychological skills in these situations is problematic and new possibilities for the legal psychologist with post-separation families are presented. In the course of the development of theoretical research, the choice for the diagnostic understanding of gestalt was given, since this notion presented, in its foundation, theoretical premises that could be applied beyond the clinical psychotherapeutic scope. It should be noted that such notion derived from Gestalt therapy differs from formal psychodiagnosis. The theoretical research carried out on Gestalt diagnostic comprehension evidenced principles based on phenomenology and, from these, it was proposed the understanding posture as a contribution of the Gestalt Approach to Legal Psychology in Family Sticks. The gathering of contributions from the comprehensive gestalt posture came from the indication of principles that were related to peculiar aspects of the field of action of the psychologist in Varas de Família.
