THE INFLUENCE OF CONTEMPORARY ASPECTS OF FEMALE SEXUALITY - A GESTAL VISION

Abstract

The work aims to reflect on the expression of female sexuality based on the repercussion of what is lived in the contemporary scenario. We know the importance of considering the strengths of the field in which the organism is, when it comes to understanding how and its relation to the world and to the other. We will focus on the peculiar characteristics of this scenario as active forces in the field of relation of this woman: hypervaluation of self-sufficiency, image and appearance, self-control, individualism, power of achievement, competitiveness, among others. Thinking of accumulating functions, responsibilities, activities to be carried out within short time frames, the woman may end up not being able to live the here-now and carry to the inner universe the problems and the daily tensions. With this, you will have difficulty respecting your own limits and setting priorities, seeing your body suffer this tension and not be able to be willing to have satisfactory sexual contact. We will approach sexuality as an expression of contact because it is also touched by what is experienced in our interactions and by the ability to make contact. In order to understand women's functioning in relation to their sexuality, the theme will also be explored from the close correlation between the sexual response cycle and the concept of the contact cycle. We will approach the theme with Gestalt-therapy as the main theoretical reference, using relevant concepts such as self-regulation, awareness, the perspective of field theory, contact and their interruptions. We will emphasize retroflexion as a contact block very present in contemporaneity when the individual divides and acts manipulating itself as if it were the medium. Thus, it promotes a dynamic that gives itself the notion of self-sufficiency, so valued in the contemporary world. Finally, we will reaffirm our belief in the clinical work of Gestalt Therapy as a possibility to welcome our question, to promote awareness, to see possibilities for new choices and to establish more functional relationships.
